The leggy TV host, talks about her love for dancing at a young age, her ideal “me” time, and dropping processed foods from her diet to maintain a healthy routine.
Article:
· Meditation Music for the Keibler Soul: The most important part of her health and fitness routine is the five to 10 minutes when she does absolutely nothing, For the past few years, Keibler has incorporated a morning meditation into her daily schedule. “I had a friend who practiced, and I got a guided meditation CD from her,” she says. “It’s really great on a long flight – if you load it onto your iPod, you can have the most relaxing travel experience ever.”
· On how wrestling sharply declined her activity level: “I stopped dancing to travel around the world with the WWE, but I was still eating the same way. Once I stopped burning all those calories, I felt my body and my energy levels changing.”
· The start of a healthy relationship: “[Running] is really how my love for health and wellness started,” she explains. “I started running because it was always the easiest form of exercise to get in. No matter where I was in the world, I could go outside my hotel and take a run. I really found a passion for that. It’s good for my heart and my head.”
· Really listening to her heart, not her brain: “When I’m eating well and working out, I feel more focused and have more mental clarity. At this point, there’s really no other way of life for me. Fitness and nutrition are important parts of my life, and they always will be.”
· She grew up eating healthy comfort foods, but her favorite dish that feeds her soul these days is a 25 calorie cup of Cauliflower Mash (her take on garlicky mash potatoes).
Cauliflower Mash
Serves 2
1 Tbsp. olive oil
3 cloves roasted garlic (or 1 tsp. garlic
powder)
1 head cauliflower
Salt and ground pepper, to taste
Chop the cauliflower into florets. Steam florets in a steamer basket over an inch of boiling water for about 5 to 10 minutes, or until tender. Once tender, throw the florets into a food processor or a blender and mix until smooth. Add the other ingredients and pulse until all ingredients are mixed. Enjoy!
For a bolder flavor, incorporate half a chopped, caramelized onion into your food processor. For a creamier option, add 1 or 2 Tbsp. clarified butter. Find more of Stacy’s signature recipes, visit her website, skphilosophy.com.
