Review: EnjoyingTea Izu Premium Matcha

We will present interesting facts about tea and also show the many interesting application of tea. I was given the chance to test out Izu Premium Matcha.

This Matcha is a famous powder tea made from ground Gyokuro green tea from Izu province in Japan. Only the most precious top grade hand picked Japanese tea is used for our Matcha. It is whisked with hot water in a bowl to make a frothy healthful beverage. Match is traditionally drunk in "Japanese Tea Ceremony". This tea contains high concentration of polyphenols that have powerful antioxidant properties. A growing body of scientific evidence suggests that polyphenols may help prevent cancers, lower the risk of heart disease, and strengthen our immune system.

Some of my favorite matcha tea recipes are:

Matcha Chai Latte

• 1t chai spices: cinnamom, clove, allspice, ginger and cardamom
• 1t Matcha
• 1 cup almond milk 

 Chai in this context is a mood, a dusting of flavor to warm up your soul and palate. As always we encourage you to find your own ritual. This is our recipe improve for Matcha Chai Latte. Warm milk in a sauce pan over low heat. Add chai spices and stir occasionally until flavors express. Prepare matcha as a tea with water. Strain milk into a cup and combine with matcha. You may add your choice of sweetener at any point. Another option is to add matcha powder directly to the milk.

Matcha Tea Smoothie

• 1/2 cup yogurt
• 2 tbsp honey or sugar
• 1/2 cup ice cubes
• 1 tsp ingredient grade matcha 

 Blend ingredients together in electric blender. Pour into a tall glass.
